A full-drill printed canvas with adhesive under a protective film, resin drills sorted into numbered bags, a drill pen, a tray, a wax pad and instructions.

Materials and care

Printed canvas with a pre-applied adhesive layer, and resin drills. Keep the finished piece out of strong sun, dust it with a soft dry brush and never wash it. Press any loose drill back into place with the pen.

Before you start

Lay the canvas flat under a few heavy books for a day if it has creases. Peel back only a strip of film at a time, keep the rest covered so the adhesive stays tacky, and work under a bright, even light.

About the designs

Every design is a portrait canvas in soft pinks, whites and sea blues, like a stack of postcards from the prettiest places you have been or still want to see.

  • Paris blossom: the Eiffel Tower between two pink cherry trees, with a big pink rose in the grass up front.
  • Venice canal: a black gondola heaped with pink and white peonies, gliding toward a little bridge.
  • Santorini steps: a blue-domed chapel above a whitewashed lane lined with pots of pink hydrangeas.
  • Garden arch: a sunlit stone path under a blossom-covered pergola, with the sea just visible.
  • Fuji lake and Fuji pagoda: snowy Mount Fuji over a calm lake, or behind a red pagoda in cherry blossom season.
  • Seaside cafe: a small table on a sandy terrace under pink bougainvillea, looking out over turquoise water.
  • Sailboat window: two white sails seen past a pink curtain and a tea table set with flowers.
  • Butterfly beach: pale butterflies resting on pastel pebbles as the sun goes down.
  • Coffee and roses, Blossom swing and White daisy: a gold-rimmed coffee cup with rose cupcakes, a pink swing under a cherry tree, and a dew-covered daisy up close.

Sizes and drills

16 x 20 in (40 x 50 cm) is the size most people start with and fits a standard frame. 20 x 28 in (50 x 70 cm) shows more detail in the petals and the water and makes a real statement on a wall.

Round drills catch the light from every side and forgive a slightly crooked placement, so they are the easy choice for a first canvas. Square drills sit edge to edge with no gaps, which gives a smoother, more painted look, but each one needs to line up with its neighbors. The canvas size and the picture are the same either way.

How long it takes

We estimate about 18 to 32 hours for the 16 x 20 in canvas and 35 to 60 hours for 20 x 28 in, at a relaxed pace of 800 to 1,500 drills an hour with color changes included. A first canvas usually takes a little longer. Keep the film over the part you have not reached yet and you can stop for days without the adhesive drying out.

What is in the kit

  • A full-drill printed canvas with adhesive under a protective film
  • Resin drills sorted into numbered bags
  • A drill pen, a tray and a wax pad for the pen tip
  • Instructions

Frames are not included; the photos show finished canvases framed for display. Pick a few designs and hang them together: they share the same pastel palette, so any three make a set.

Questions

Do I get all twelve designs?

No, each kit is one design. Pick the scene you like in the Design menu and the size and drill shape under Size. Ordering three designs in the same size makes a matching set for one wall.

Round or square drills?

Round drills sparkle more and are forgiving if one sits slightly off, so they suit a first canvas. Square drills fit edge to edge for a smoother finish and reward neat placement. The picture is the same.

How long does it take?

About 18 to 32 hours for 16 x 20 in (40 x 50 cm) and 35 to 60 hours for 20 x 28 in (50 x 70 cm), at 800 to 1,500 drills an hour. You can stop and start whenever you like.
