Each pack is a single cross stitch kit, ready to start. Inside you get cotton canvas, cotton thread and 2 needles. That is the whole list, so there is nothing else to hunt down before you sit down to stitch.
The canvas is cotton and so is the thread. The weave is even, which keeps your stitches square and your rows straight as the picture builds. The thread separates cleanly and holds its color while you work.
You choose the canvas when you order. The count changes how large the finished picture turns out and how the stitches read up close.
| Canvas | Type | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 18 count unprinted | Counted, no pattern printed on the fabric | Stitchers who like a finer stitch and a smaller finished piece |
| 14 count unprinted | Counted, no pattern printed on the fabric | A middle ground, easy to read and easy on the eyes |
| 14 count printed | Pattern printed on the fabric | Beginners and anyone who would rather follow the print than count |
Unprinted canvas means you count from a chart and place each stitch yourself. Printed canvas means the design is already on the fabric, so you match thread to the printed blocks. Both are counted cross stitch in the end, just a different way of getting there.
Winter lake and pines: still water, dark trees and a cold sky.
Summer mountain cabin: a small cabin under open peaks.
Spring meadow and mountains: soft ground, new growth and distant ridges.
Autumn sunset lake: warm light over water and turning trees.
All four are scenic patterns in a European style, and they sit well together as a set of four if you stitch them across a year.
Start by unfolding the canvas and letting it relax flat. Find the center of the fabric and the center of the chart, then work outward from there. That way a small counting slip does not push the whole design off the edge.
Thread your needle with the number of strands your chart calls for, and work in rows or blocks rather than jumping around. On printed canvas, stitch over the printed blocks and let the print guide you. On unprinted canvas, mark off the chart as you go so you always know where you left off.
Take breaks. Cross stitch is not a race, and an hour at a time adds up faster than you expect.
Fold the canvas flat for storage. A flat fold keeps the weave even and stops creases from setting in while a project is half done. Keep the thread with the canvas so the colors stay together.
When the stitching is finished, press the canvas flat on the back side with a cloth over it. Do not iron directly on the stitches.
These are four season scenes, so they suit a long project better than a single sitting. Pick the season you are in, or the one you miss most, and let it take the time it takes.
Yes. Choose the 14 count printed canvas and the design is already on the fabric, so you match thread to the printed blocks instead of counting from a chart.
Printed canvas has the pattern printed on the fabric. Unprinted canvas is blank, so you count from a chart and place each stitch yourself.
Cotton canvas, cotton thread and 2 needles. It is a single kit, and the canvas you pick is the canvas you get.
Fold the canvas flat for storage. A flat fold keeps the weave even and helps prevent creases while the project is in progress.
